June is a month with a relatively high amount of announcements due to the Summer Game Fest, an event hosted by Geoff Keighley (of The Game Awards fame). Among the forty developers coming to the Summer Game Fest, notable standouts include CD Projekt Red, Devolver Digital, SEGA, Square Enix, Hoyoverse, Warner Bros. Games, and more. Notably, Nintendo is the only one missing of the “big three” platform manufacturers, as PlayStation and Xbox are scheduled to appear.
Other notable brands include Electronic Arts, Netflix, Nexon, Razer, Samsung Gaming Hub, Tribeca Festival, Steam, Epic Games, and more. The event is scheduled to take place at the YouTube Theatre in Inglewood, California. It’s currently unknown which streaming services will host the show, but it will include highly-anticipated games, like Starfield.
Furthermore, the 2023 Summer Game Fest will take place on Thursday, June 8th, 2023, and will be broken up over a few days, including the main show on June 8th followed by the Day of the Devs. Then, on June 11th, the Xbox Games Showcase and Starfield Direct will take place, followed by Ubisoft Forward on June 12th, revealing what Ubisoft has in store for new releases.
Lastly, tickets are now on sale through Ticketmaster and can be purchased between $35 to $45 USD, depending on the desired location in the theatre. Given the expected popularity of the event, tickets are likely to sell out fast.
