‘Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis’ comes to iOS and Android on September 7th

Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis, an innovative mobile game that expands upon the beloved FFVII story and universe, is set to launch on iOS and Android on September 7th. Square Enix originally revealed this mobile game alongside the captivating battle royale action title, Final Fantasy VII The First Soldier, in 2021. Though initially planned for a 2022 release, the game suffered from delays, with closed beta testing only commencing in July of this year.

Applibot developed Ever Crisis, with esteemed Final Fantasy veterans Kazushige Nojima, Yoshinori Kitase, and Tetsuya Nomura taking on key roles as the scenario writer, executive producer, and creative director, respectively. The game adopts an art style reminiscent of the original FFVII’s chibi characters, but with an intriguing twist – as The Verge highlights, Cloud now possesses actual hands in this version.

The game beautifully retells the unforgettable events of the original, allowing players to relive its most iconic moments. Furthermore, it includes intriguing backstory elements from The First Soldier and explores the characters’ younger days. The gameplay itself is based on the original’s Active Time Battle system, expertly optimized for seamless mobile enjoyment.

Ever Crisis follows a free-to-play model, although Android Police’s review of the closed beta version reveals that players may choose to spend money playing “gacha” for desirable weapons and items. Fans eager to jump into this extraordinary experience as soon as it launches now have the opportunity to pre-register for either or both mobile platforms.
