The temperature is set to rise this summer, as the new Ocean’s 11 prequel is set to start rolling cameras relatively soon. According to Production List, the film will begin filming by the end of the month, setting the stage for a new story featuring some of the world’s biggest thieves. Although there are currently few details available about the movie’s plot, we do know that Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie will be starring in it. With their strong chemistry and proven acting talents, this project will be completely different from anything they’ve done before. It’s hard to predict what this team of thieves will get up to next.
Moreover, it’s been announced that the upcoming Ocean’s movie will serve as a prequel to the already established franchise, and not a reboot set in a different world. This means that the 2001 classic featuring George Clooney and Julia Roberts will still take place at some point after the events of the prequel. It remains to be seen whether the new movie will directly tie into events from the earlier films, or if it will be a standalone story that still forms part of the franchise’s continuity. That said, there’s no doubt about the future of the Ocean’s series – with Warner Bros. firmly at the helm, we can expect plenty more to come.
The most recent Ocean’s film to hit theaters was 2018’s Ocean’s 8, in which Sandra Bullock led a team of all-female heist experts at the Met Gala. The goal was simple: to steal a very expensive necklace. The cast’s great chemistry made for a hugely entertaining movie, raking in an impressive $297 million globally – enough to convince the studio that more Ocean’s films were definitely the way to go. It’s taken a while to find the right story to tell, but it appears that Warner Bros. has found it.
A Dreamy Reunion for Gosling and Robbie
Before their exciting new heist, Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie will be seen on the big screen this summer in Barbie, set to release in theaters on July 21. Robbie will take on the iconic role of the beloved doll, who lives in a world full of wonder, love, and pink. But everything changes when Barbie starts to question whether or not she can die, and what that would mean for her future. Gosling will play Ken, her loving partner who joins her in her quest for answers about the mysteries of life. Directed by the talented Greta Gerwig, this film is sure to be a hit this summer.
While it seems that the studio is gearing up to start production this summer, the entertainment industry is currently in a major labor strike. The Writers Guild of America has been on strike for a month, and the Screen Actors Guild has recently voted to authorize a strike in case negotiations with AMPTP do not progress as planned. We may have to wait a bit
