People on X are currently fired up because an account appearing to belong to Mike Gundy’s son and former Oklahoma State QB Gunnar Gundy fired a shot at pole vaulter Sarah Stair.
It appeared like Gunnar was teasing a return to Stillwater after jumping in the transfer portal. There’s just one major problem.
It’s not real. Not even a little bit.

Despite being complete nonsense, the tweet has been seen more than six million times, and multiple sites have fallen for it.
It’s all in the game, and sometimes, the game is just too good.

Look, fair is fair. I’ve fallen for fake stuff before. AI is a hell of a thing, and some tweets are just too perfectly crafted. However, now more than ever before, people have to assume nothing is real at first glance.
The internet is downright sinister, and whoever is running this fake account somehow tricked millions of people and major news outlets.
You just hate to see it.
