Dragon’s Dogma 2 Showcase Set for Late November, Will Show New Gameplay and Info

This morning, CAPCOM announced a new Dragon’s Dogma 2 showcase scheduled for Tuesday, November 28th, airing at 1 PM Pacific Time or 9 PM GMT.

The publisher has promised brand new gameplay and lots of information straight from Game Director Hideaki Itsuno and Producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi. The live stream will last around 15 minutes.

CAPCOM has certainly increased the pace of Dragon’s Dogma 2 updates over the past few months, which may hint at an imminent release date announcement. After all, the Japanese publisher still has another unspecified major game (a million seller) scheduled to be released by the end of the current fiscal year, which is scheduled for March 2024. Dragon’s Dogma 2 was even playable by the public at the Tokyo Game Show in September. Moreover, the sequel received its rating in Saudi Arabia earlier this week, suggesting it won’t be long before its launch.

Last month, Game Director Hideaki Itsuno and Producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi talked about their goal to make Dragon’s Dogma 2 a fantasy world simulation game.

Itsuno: By applying tools such as physical calculations, even a single slope has meaning in gameplay. In battle, higher ground has an advantage. However, climbing to high places costs more than navigating on flat ground. When throwing something, it hurts more if you throw it from top to bottom. Running down a slope from top to bottom increases speed.

These are all things that are incorporated to simulate a fantasy world. I hope you will think I am trying to create a “fantasy world life simulation game”. As with all slopes, it’s easy to lose your balance. Taking advantage of this, attacking the extremities, such as the feet, can be effective in making the opponent fall. We incorporate various elements so that the laws we experience while living in this world can also be used in the fantasy world of Dragon’s Dogma 2.

Hirabayashi: It’s a commitment to help you immerse yourself in that world.

Powered by RE Engine, Dragon’s Dogma 2 will be released for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S|X. The game can already be wishlisted on Steam.
