Sony Unveils July 2023 PlayStation Plus Lineup: A Gloomy Trio

Sony recently announced its PlayStation Plus lineup for July 2023, and it looks like a rather somber collection. The upcoming games include Alan Wake Remastered, Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, and Endlig – Extinction is Forever. These titles will be available for both PS4 and PS5, catering to all tiers of PlayStation Plus subscribers.

While this trio of games may be impressive, one cannot help but wonder if Sony possesses some insider knowledge about looming real-world events. After all, the lineup appears rather bleak.

Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War

The standout title among the three is Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. It’s quite a significant addition to the PlayStation Plus library for July 2023, considering it hasn’t even been three years since its release. Prepare for an intense campaign that plunges your squad into fictional but ominous scenarios from one of the most tense periods in modern history.

Although it may not reach the heights of the series’ golden era, Cold War remains a noteworthy installment in the franchise.

Alan Wake Remastered

The second game on the list is Alan Wake Remastered, which serves as Remedy’s spiritual successor to their 2010 hit, Max Payne. While not as graphically violent as Remedy’s neo-noir masterpiece, Alan Wake still offers a dark and twisted gaming experience. Drawing inspiration from the works of Stephen King, players can expect a journey into the depths of darkness.

Though the game’s heavy reliance on expository dialogue and aging combat mechanics could be seen as drawbacks, Alan Wake Remastered is definitely worth exploring, especially for those anticipating the upcoming sequel.

Endling – Extinction is Forever

Last but not least, we have Endling – Extinction is Forever. With a title like that, it immediately becomes the darkest entry in the lineup. What could this game possibly entail?

Surprisingly, Endling – Extinction is Forever is a side-scrolling adventure featuring adorable foxes. However, don’t be fooled by their cuteness; the game is bound to take a dark turn early on.

As with all PlayStation Plus titles, it’s important to remember that you won’t lose access to the games if you cancel your subscription. However, you can only play them while your subscription is active.

Sony has also introduced a new Spotify playlist featuring songs inspired by PlayStation Plus games. The company plans to update the playlist each month, making it a worthwhile listen.
