Tonight, during the hours of 6–7 PM, Pokémon trainers can enjoy the Sunkern Spotlight Hour in Pokémon GO. This unique event will feature an increased appearance rate of Sunkern in the wild, as well as a higher likelihood of encountering it with Incense. The added excitement comes from Sunkern appearing in spawn points that are typically inactive, enticing trainers to explore further. However, the Incense buff requires physical movement to activate. Take note, as this is the third of four Spotlight Hours for June 2023. Keep reading to get all the specific details for tonight’s event.
Firstly, it is indeed possible to find a Shiny Sunkern during the event. As someone who participated in the first Sunkern Spotlight Hour, I was fortunate enough to catch my first-ever Shiny Sunkern. It is worth noting that the Shiny Sunkern closely resembles its standard form, with a deeper gold color and sepia brown stripes replacing the black stripes of the normal form.
Tonight’s Spotlight Hour bonus offers double Candy for transferring Pokémon. To maximize your time hunting for Shiny Pokémon, it is recommended to select and queue up your Pokémon transfers before the Spotlight Hour begins. Once the event starts and the bonus is active, simply hit the transfer button and commence your hunt.

- June 15th – 29th: Nihilego with the possibility of a Shiny release
