Details About Zeiss’ Apple Vision Pro Prescription Optical Inserts Unveiled Prior to 2024 Launch

Zeiss has provided a sneak peek of its prescription lenses for the Apple Vision Pro, the groundbreaking mixed reality headset unveiled at Apple’s recent Worldwide Developers Conference. These lenses, which will be available in the US next year, are designed to complement the Vision Pro and will be offered as optical inserts by Zeiss. The company’s website highlights its collaboration with Apple to ensure customers who wear glasses can use the headset seamlessly.

The optical inserts for the Apple Vision Pro can be found on Zeiss’ website, which provides vision correction options for individuals who purchase the headset in 2024. These innovative magnetic lenses eliminate the need for glasses while wearing the Vision Pro.

Zeiss has not yet disclosed the pricing for these optical inserts, but according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, they are expected to cost between $300 and $600 per pair. Considering the Vision Pro itself is priced at $3,499, users requiring vision correction may end up spending approximately $4,000 to utilize the device. However, it’s essential to remember that Zeiss has not officially announced the pricing details for its optical inserts.

Unveiled at WWDC 2023, the Apple Vision Pro boasts two high-resolution micro-OLED displays capable of showcasing both augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) content on a 100-foot virtual screen. The headset features a combination of aluminum and glass for its frame, and it comes equipped with 12 cameras, five sensors, and six microphones.

Apple ensures that several iOS and iPad apps will be compatible with its upcoming mixed reality headset. Additionally, users can enjoy content from other devices, such as a MacBook, on a significantly larger scale thanks to the Vision Pro. Disney has also announced its support for creating special content exclusively tailored to this headset, enhancing the overall experience for users.
