After a long delay, TBS’ highly anticipated show, “Miracle Workers,” is finally returning with its fourth season, titled “Miracle Workers: End Times,” on July 10th. This season takes place in a wasteland reminiscent of the movie “Mad Max,” where a small group of survivors creates a new life in a post-apocalyptic world. To build up excitement for the show’s return, TBS has released a thrilling new clip.
The clip features the character Sid, played by Daniel Radcliffe, as he embarks on his first day of work in this post-apocalyptic world. His job? A junk collector, of course. Sid will be working for Morris “The Junkman” Rubinstein, portrayed by Steve Buscemi, who takes junk very seriously. Sid is considered an “underprivileged wastelander” tasked with giving back to the community, while Morris enjoys a tax break. As Sid accompanies Morris through the shop, he expresses his basic understanding of the junk business as merely “buying and selling trash.” Morris corrects him, emphasizing that it’s not trash but junk – an important distinction. Morris even started his business with his first rusty trombone, which he proudly displays on the wall.
What Else to Expect From “Miracle Workers: End Times”
Aside from the intriguing world of junk collecting, “End Times” will delve deeper into Sid’s personal and professional life. On the personal side, Sid and his warlord wife Freya, played by Geraldine Viswanathan, will face challenges as they try to adapt to suburban life as newlyweds. Despite the obstacles, they support each other and strive for normalcy. A previous clip hinted at the arrival of Freya’s incredibly wealthy parents, offering a glimpse into her family background. The season trailer also suggests that danger looms in Boomtown.
“Miracle Workers” was created by Simon Rich, with Season 1 adapted from his novel and Season 2 drawing inspiration from his short stories. Seasons 3 and 4 introduced new stories to the series. The additional cast includes Karan Soni as the kill-bot TI-90, Jon Bass as Sid and Freya’s “dog” Scraps, Thomas Forbes-Johnson, Andre Johnson, Ken Heang, Jason Scott Jenkins, and Erin Darke, among others.
