Watching cricket is incredibly exciting when you don’t have to miss a game. But if you’re like me and you don’t live in a country where cricket is a popular sport, keeping up on all-things cricket can come with challenges.
Well, as it turns out, you can actually get live HD cricket streaming on your phone pretty easily. If you’re having trouble finding a reliable source to watch live cricket games, you can watch cricket games, highlights & follow cricket wherever you are with apps!
After discovering this, I took a deep dive into the world of apps in order to find a couple of them with which I could watch cricket live and keep up with my favorite cricket players.
CricketBuzz
If you enjoy Cricket and use apps, you likely heard of this one. CricketBuzz is a big player when it comes to cricket apps and I’d say it’s rightfully so. I’ve been using this one before and I like the overall design. You can see the developers put time into making this one because stuff like finding teams or specific players is extremely intuitive.
I like how you can also check game schedules and get live scores. Basically, the app has everything an average sports fan needs and I can see why this is usually the first app people latch onto.
One thing I did notice in the last few months is an increase in the advertisement. The valuable information and content are still there, it’s just you’ll encounter an add more than before.
If you haven’t used the app before, it might bother you so much, but it does bother me since I have the experience from before. Also, sometimes the latest updates might be a bit late, but it’s extremely minor and doesn’t really affect the overall quality.
Pros: The intuitive search, plenty of information about players and teams
Cons: Many ads, sometimes the updates are a bit late
Summary: A seasoned cricket app great for all crickets fans
ESPNCricinfo
ESPNCricinfo is great because you get information about cricket games from around the world! There’s an auto-refresh system that allows you to see the most recent changes in scores and statistics without having to constantly refresh your app.
You can also save your favorite teams for quick access and get notifications for specific games and scores you choose yourself, which is convenient.
I really enjoy the ability to watch videos, read articles and listen to opinions from experts who love cricket and provide in-depth analysis of games.
It’s fair to keep in mind that some users have found that recent updates have added information to the app. Because of this, the app may work a bit differently than it used to.
However, just like with anything new, once you get used to the way it works, you should have no trouble with navigating the app and finding exactly what cricket games and teams what you want.
Pros: Worldwide games, auto-refresh scores, and updated statistics.
Cons: A newer update has made the app work slightly differently than before.
Overall: A great resource for finding up-to-date stats that comes with a slight learning curve when it comes to navigating the app.
Cricket Australia Live
For a more advanced cricket watching experience, Cricket Australia Live is a great option. Do not be fooled by the name like I initially was; this app offers exclusive coverage of live cricket matches both foreign and domestic.
You can gain insight into top players’ stats from a variety of different leagues. Plus, Cricket Australia Live has a really user-friendly layout with impressive graphics and a split-screen mode for dual cricket watching.
Something I have observed and seen via comments is that, as the app has grown, it has added features which cause it to crash occasionally when switching to a full-screen mode. This most commonly occurs when you’re actively watching a video and trying to switch to full-screen mode.
However, it appears the app developers are working to remedy the problem, so hopefully, this should be fixed soon!
Pros: Foreign and domestic matches, split-screen mode, and high-quality graphics
Cons: Occasionally crashes when put into full-screen mode
Overall: You have access to tons of games with the ability to customize the physical layout of how you watch them but switching into full-screen mode may cause the app to crash.
Live Cricket Score 2018
While downloading this one, I noticed how lightweight it is in comparison to the first three. Still, this doesn’t seem to come at the cost of features the app provides. You can browse the news, get live scores and I even discovered more important matches have live commentary for a bit more immersive experience.
There’s even a mini-game where you can play cricket I honestly found to be hilarious. I don’t think it’s good, but I love they decided to include it as well. The game definitely works when you have extra time to spare and you want a quick way to kill time.
One thing I didn’t like is the fact the app isn’t as polished as the first three. Naturally, this can be easily fixed over time with updates, but the first 3 definitely win when it comes to reliability.
So you might wonder, why this app? This one is great if you have a phone with not much space for a new app. It’s small, yet you have everything you’ll possibly need.
Pros: Lightweight app, plenty of information, minigames
Cons: Lags from time to time
Summary: A small app that packs a punch and might get better in the future
Cricket Line Guru
Originally, the previous four apps were the only choices I was going to share with you. That was until I discovered this less popular app and thought to give it a try. Although it’s not as good as my first recommendations, it can definitely serve as a wild-card in case you want a third option to try out! Cricket Line Guru provides an extensive collection of cricket news and scores.
You’re able to stay up to date on live games and stats at the click of a button. You can also access recent match information on an incredibly user-friendly interface that’s simple to navigate. For all of these reasons, I think it’s a valid – though maybe not as impressive – fifth option.
From my own swim through the comments sections, it appears that many users enjoy using Cricket Line Guru over other apps, but there are occasional technical challenges that come with it.
From my own experience, it does appear that these are few and far between, but you may be forced to reload the app if you encounter a problem. Thankfully, it appears that an update is on the horizon, so hopefully, this will be fixed in the near future.
Pros: Quick access to cricket news & scores and live game coverage
Cons: App occasionally freezes mid-use
Overall: It is great for getting fast access to game scores and news highlights but can have technical malfunctions on occasion.
