Clark is No. 3 in Princeton Review’s game design rankings – Clark Now

 

Clark University is again home to one of the world’s top-ranked game design programs, according to The Princeton Review.

Clark’s undergraduate program, offered through the Becker School of Design & Technology, is ranked No. 3 in Princeton Review’s Top 50 Schools for Game Design nationwide and beyond, while the master of fine arts program was No. 7 on the list of Top 25 Graduate Schools for Game Design.

Both the undergraduate and graduate programs are ranked No. 2 in the Northeast.

“The Princeton Review’s ranking of game design programs is one of the primary resources used by high school students and their families, as well as college grads, to choose their top-destination undergraduate schools and graduate interactive media programs,” says Paul Cotnoir, dean of The Becker School of Design & Technology. “It is a huge honor for Clark’s game design programs to be positioned so highly.

“Students attracted to Clark are highly motivated individuals who are most certainly purpose-driven,” Cotnoir continues. “And Clark’s lively studio-based curriculum, which brings the real-world gaming ecosystem into the classroom within a structure of positive social change and interdepartmental collaboration, is absolutely unique among colleges offering game design programs.”

Clark was No. 4 in the 2023 undergraduate rankings.

The Princeton Review’s rankings are based on more than 40 data points derived from the company’s 2023 survey of administrators at 150 schools offering game design courses and/or degrees. Most of the institutions are in the U.S., with two in Canada and four abroad.

The 50-question survey covered four areas: academics, faculty, technology, and career topics. The Princeton Review website provides detailed information about the survey methodology and rankings criteria.
