Cat’s Reaction to Sneeze Delights Internet: ‘How Dramatic’

Cats are notorious for being a little quirky, but some take it a bit too far. A tabby cat from Germany has left the internet in stitches after his owner revealed what he does every time she sneezes, in a clip that has since gone viral on social media.

In the video shared on TikTok in January, under the username pure_svan, the cat can be seen flinching every single time he ears his owner sneeze, squinting his eyes and showing his long fangs to her as if he was about to start hissing, though he holds back from doing so.

The hilarious clip comes with a caption that says: “POV: your cat hates sneezing noises.”

All owners have probably felt judged by their cats from time to time, but is it just a feeling or is there some truth in it?

Veterinarians talking to the U.K.’s BBC Radio 4 explain that although cats can exhibit preferences when it comes to our behavior, showing likes or dislike for things that we do, they don’t experience emotions in the same same way that humans do, and thus they do not judge us, even though it may look like they do.

They explained that, contrary to popular belief, cats are not spiteful or vindictive, simply because they’re not on our level when it comes to planning and emotions.

The video quickly went viral on social media, getting viewers from across TikTok. It has so far received over 1.4 million views and 255,500 likes on the platform.

Jordan Krueger, wrote: “Me in a workplace when anyone does absolutely anything.” And Rachel added: “Yes and then THEY dramatically sneeze on you and act like its no problem.”

Another user, SewingLady said: “My cat hates my sneezing but I sneeze like a proper DAD tho. And he always attacks me if I sneeze more than twice in a row.”
