The latest quarterly report from Capcom has unveiled the company’s bestselling franchises, and the results are not very surprising.
The Resilient Success of Capcom Franchises – The Top Five as of July 2023
Unsurprisingly, Resident Evil leads the pack with a staggering 146 million units sold throughout the franchise’s history. The recent release of Resident Evil 4 Remake has contributed to this number, with 5 million units sold as of July 2023.
Other entries in the series continue to perform exceptionally well. Resident Evil 2 Remake has impressively surpassed 12 million unit sales. Fans eagerly anticipate the development of VR mode for RE4 Remake.
The remaining spots on the list are as follows:
2. Monster Hunter – 94 million units
3. Street Fighter – 52 million units
4. Mega Man – 40 million units
5. Devil May Cry – 29 million units
6. Dragon’s Dogma – 7.7 million units
Monster Hunter continues its impressive lifetime sales, with Monster Hunter Rise selling over 13 million units and Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak selling over 6 million units. The latest addition to the Street Fighter series, Street Fighter 6, launched in June and has already sold over 2 million units.
The future looks bright for Capcom, with several upcoming titles expected to bolster sales, including Dragon’s Dogma 2 and Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy. Hopefully, the indefinitely delayed Pragmata will eventually see the light of day.
