Call of Duty is publicly shaming cheaters in the kill feed

Players who cheat in games are now being publicly exposed in real-time when they are kicked out. The latest update for CoD: Modern Warfare II and CoD: Warzone season five, which went live this week, includes an enhancement to the Ricochet anti-cheat system.

The new feature notifies all players in the match through the kill feed when Ricochet detects and removes a cheater. This not only alerts other players that they have been dealing with a cheater but also demonstrates that Activision’s systems were able to identify and eliminate the cheater from the game.

Although it’s not an entirely new concept for a game to inform players about cheaters being banned, I recently experienced this in BattleBit Remastered a captivating, low-poly variation of the Battlefield series. The game promptly notified me whenever a cheater was removed.

Team Ricochet’s latest update is a commendable effort to combat cheaters and expose suspected hackers. In the past, Call of Duty has taken several measures to address cheaters, and recently, Team Ricochet has been deploying clones to entrap detected and suspected cheaters. These clones intentionally make it evident that they are cheating when interacting with potential hackers.
