Breath of the Wild Looks Unreal With Complete Ray Tracing in New 8K Video

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is no longer the latest entry in the series, but thanks to the high quality of the CEMU Wii U emulator and some mods, it continues to be, by far, the best-looking entry in the franchise.

Earlier this week, Digital Dreams shared a new 8K resolution video showcasing the game running with the Complete Ray Tracing shader developed by NiceGuy, which is considerably more advanced and better looking than ray-traced global illumination shaders, which improved the visuals of plenty of older titles not natively supporting ray tracing in any form. Needless to say, the results are stunning.

As mentioned above, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is no longer the latest entry in the series following this year’s release of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. While new entry in the series is not as groundbreaking as its predecessor, it is an excellent open-world adventure that builds upon the previous game’s foundations to deliver a more rewarding experience, as highlighted by Nathan in his review.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom sticks closely to the blueprint established by The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, but it’s a richer, more rewarding game in most ways that count, offering a more intricate world, versatile suite of abilities, epic story, and satisfying dungeons. The familiarity of this Hyrule and a handful of frustrating sections keep Tears of the Kingdom from feeling quite as surprising and magical as its predecessor, but make no mistake, the wait has been worth it. While it probably behooves Nintendo to carve out an entirely new Legend next, Link’s latest should fill most fans’ heart meters nicely in the meantime.
