Only in the realm of comic book movies can performing poorly at the box office be seen as a success. However, The Flash must find any glimmer of positivity it can as it struggles to rise above being one of the worst Marvel adaptations to date.

In the ongoing rivalry between the Marvel and DC superhero universes, the latest rumors suggest that Ben Affleck may be preparing to switch sides once again, much to the delight of those who oppose James Gunn’s role as co-CEO. It has been a strange and eventful week for Marvel, and this trend shows no signs of stopping in the near future…

Prior to the weekend, there was a significant risk that The Flash would surpass Morbius and experience the largest drop in its second weekend among superhero films. However, when it comes to hitting rock bottom, don’t worry—the title still belongs to Morbius.

Needless to say, DC’s infamous disappointment achieving this milestone isn’t cause for celebration. It does make you wonder how James Gunn is coping with the growing challenges as co-CEO of the company.

After publicly announcing his retirement from the role of Batman, Ben Affleck seemed resolute in his decision. However, he surprised everyone by returning for Zack Snyder’s Justice League, The Flash, and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Oh, and one other thing…

He also adamantly denied ever considering a return to the Daredevil universe, but rumors suggest that he was spotted on the set of Deadpool 3, which is said to explore multiple universes. We can only wait and see if there’s any truth to these claims.

James Mangold is known for his candidness, and his recent comparison of Hugh Jackman’s return as Logan in Deadpool 3 to Marvel wringing every last drop out of a saturated cloth certainly didn’t hold back. However, he failed to recognize the irony in his own comments about recycled intellectual property.

After all, this is the same director who is bringing Swamp Thing back to life for the fourth time while also directing sequels to a decade-old franchise spin-off, and even reviving Indiana Jones after a 15-year absence.

That concludes another eventful week in the chaotic realms of the Marvel universe. Be sure to check back tomorrow as the saga continues.
