Battle Stars: Battle Royale to Celebrate Independence Day With Delhi-Inspired Map, Surpasses 5 Million Players

Battle Stars: Battle Royale, the popular mobile multiplayer shooter developed in India, has reached a milestone of five million players since its launch in June, making it SuperGaming’s fastest-growing game. In celebration of this achievement, and in anticipation of Independence Day, a new map inspired by the city of New Delhi has been introduced as a free update. Similar to the highly acclaimed Mumbai-based map featured in the first two seasons, this new arena highlights iconic locations such as the India Gate, Red Fort, and Connaught Place. The map is now available on both Android and iOS, and on August 15th, players will be able to spot the Indian national flag hoisted atop key structures.

SuperGaming Founder Christelle D’cruz stated, “Season 2 of Battle Stars witnessed an astounding 20 million matches played, and we wanted to enhance the experience by bringing Delhi into the game. To achieve this, we visited Delhi to capture its unique atmosphere and culture, incorporating it into the game based on community input. Our new Squad BR features were also developed based on community feedback.” The update not only improves the aesthetics of the game, but also introduces location-specific sound effects, such as the ambient chatter of the crowds, and new emotes that reflect the local slang used in Delhi.

Initially, Battle Stars originated as a small game mode within SuperGaming’s popular social deduction game Silly Royale. It later evolved into a standalone shooter, benefiting from the success of Silly Royale. Another factor contributing to its popularity was the collaboration with YouTuber Techno Gamerz (Ujjwal Chaurasia), who has an impressive subscriber count of 34.9 million. Techno Gamerz’s likeness was incorporated into the game as a playable character named Techno Quest. For those unfamiliar with Battle Stars, it offers both Team Deathmatch (TDM) and battle royale modes. The battle royale mode has now received a Squad BR update, allowing players to team up with two other players (trios) and enter the arena to survive and emerge as the last team standing.

The update introduces new power-ups and the ability to loot items from defeated opponents. Battle Stars recently concluded its four-week-long Season 2 multiplayer run, during which players engaged in 20 million matches and achieved 41 million kills. Despite these accomplishments, SuperGaming’s primary goal is to launch its independent Indo-futuristic battle royale game, Indus. In Indus, players are dropped onto a floating island map called Virlok, where they scavenge for supplies, fight for survival, and eliminate other players to become the last person standing. At intervals, a rare resource called Cosmium spawns at a random location on the map, and collecting it guarantees an instant victory.

SuperGaming also partnered with Google to introduce support for Project Gameface in Indus. This feature enables players, particularly those with cognitive and motor challenges, to control in-game actions using head movements and facial expressions. In March, Bandai Namco Entertainment, known for publishing Dark Souls and Elden Ring games, invested in SuperGaming with the aim of developing its ‘IP metaverse.’

The Delhi map for Battle Stars is now available for download on Android and iOS.
