Baldur’s Gate 3 can be played in third-person with these two mods

The modding community wasted no time in getting to work on enhancing the gameplay experience of Baldur’s Gate 3
. Two noteworthy mods, discovered by the team at PCGamer, now bring the option to play the game in third-person mode.

Undoubtedly, the top-down perspective in Baldur’s Gate 3 offers the best way to command your party during battles and navigate the map. However, exploring the rich world in third-person adds a new level of immersion to storybuilding and interacting with the inhabitants.

If you’re intrigued, the first mod to check out is the ‘WASD Character Movement’ mod, created by Ch4nkyy. As the name suggests, this mod enables you to control your character using the WASD keys and switch between character and camera movement easily.

It is recommended to use this mod alongside Ershin’s ‘Native Camera Tweaks’ mod. Personally, I’m excited to try the latter, thanks to its unlocked zoom limits, unlocked camera pitch, and controller support, which provide more freedom in positioning the camera.

With both mods installed, you can seamlessly switch between third-person and top-down views. This allows for immersive exploration of areas like the Hollow or Underdark, engaging with characters in a more personal way, and quickly switching back to the top-down view during battles.

I’m particularly thrilled to try out both mods. I often find myself zooming in on my characters, examining their surroundings, and strategizing. These mods will undoubtedly enhance my exploration experience. And unlimited zoom? Sign me up!
