‘Assassin’s Creed Mirage’: Absence of DLC and Extensive Post-Launch Add-ons

The creative director of Assassin’s Creed Mirage has confirmed that there are no plans for downloadable content or post-launch content for the game. In a Reddit Ask Me Anything (AMA) with the Assassin’s Creed Mirage team, Stéphane Boudon of Ubisoft Bordeaux stated, “For now, Mirage has no plan for DLC or extensive post-launch.” This aligns with previous statements from the developer, who described Mirage as a tightly crafted, narrative-driven experience that harkens back to earlier entries in the series.

Boudon’s response does leave room for the possibility of DLC in the future, depending on the reception of Mirage by fans and critics. The game centers around Basim Ibn Ishaq, a Master Assassin from Constantinople introduced in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and delves into his intriguing backstory. Sarah Beaulieu, the narrative director, explained that the decision to make Mirage a full game came about after working on it for a few weeks, as the opportunity to explore the city of Baghdad and delve into Basim’s character was too enticing to pass up.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is set to release on October 12th for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Xbox One. Those who pre-order the Deluxe Edition or Collector’s Case versions of the game will gain access to an exclusive in-game quest titled “The Forty Thieves,” which draws inspiration from the folk tale of Ali Baba and the treasure. Speculation among fans suggests that the cave in the story may actually be an Isu temple, holding more than just gold.

In other gaming news, it has been revealed that Baldur’s Gate 3 has a staggering 17,000 possible endings stemming from 174 hours of cinematics. However, players should not expect to discover all of these endings in their first playthrough.
