Just hours before Ark: Survival Ascended was supposed to arrive on Xbox Series X|S, Studio Wildcard announced the remake wouldn’t hit its November 14 release date. The delay should be short, according to the developer.
The official Ark: Survival Ascended account on Twitter/X revealed that the dinosaur game “is still going through the certification process and will not be releasing on Tuesday.” Studio Wildcard added that expectations are for the remake to launch “later this week,” though no specifics have been detailed yet.
Ark: Survival Ascended had “critical issues” on console last month, which was the first delay for the remake. Then, just last week, Studio Wildcard confirmed Ark: Survival Ascended would launch today, November 14 on Xbox Series X|S, with a PS5 version coming later in the month. As such, the Xbox edition missing the release date is a bit odd with confirmation happening not long ago.
The dinosaur game surprise-launched on PC in October, costing $40.50 on Steam Early Access. Not only is the Xbox edition of Ark: Survival Ascended supposed to have cross-play functionality, but will also feature parity with the PC version when it finally does launch.
In addition to this remake, Studio Wildcard is also working on Ark 2, featuring Fast X star Vin Diesel. The sequel has been delayed to 2024 and–like Ark: Survival Ascended–runs on Unreal Engine 5.
