Apple launches Pride Edition Braided Solo Loop for Apple Watch

In what has become an annual tradition for Apple, a new Pride Edition Braided Solo Loop for the Apple Watch has been introduced.

Apple’s Pride Collection for 2024

Apple annually releases Pride Edition Apple Watch bands and wallpapers, as part of its efforts to champion LGBTQ+ equality. For 2024, the initiative is also introducing some customizable elements.

The new Pride Edition Braided Solo Loop uses a vibrant, fluorescent design inspired by multiple pride flags. The lugs are laser-etched with the phrase “PRIDE 2024.”

The colors of the band include black and brown to symbolize Black, Hispanic, and Latin communities, and people impacted by HIV/AIDS. The pink, light blue, and white represent transgender and nonbinary individuals.

The Pride Edition Braided Solo Loop will be available from May 22 in the U.S. and Canada, May 23 in other regions. It is priced at $99.

The 41mm and 45mm sizes compatible with the Apple Watch SE and the Apple Watch Series 4 or later models.

Along with the band, a new Prime Radiance watch face and iOS and iPadOS wallpapers will be released. Consisting of beams of light that glow on a dark background, the beams stack to represent the “everlasting impact of LGBTQ+ activism,” according to Apple.

This time, users can select from a spectrum of colors to personalize the watch face and wallpapers.

The watch face has the colors tracing each numeral, with it reacting in real time to gyroscopic movements. The iPhone and iPad wallpapers spell out “Pride” and dynamically move when users unlock their devices.

The wallpapers and watch face will be released as part of watchOS 10.5, iOS 17.5, and iPadOS 17.5.

Apple is using the Pride Collection to support LGBTQ+ advocacy organizations, including ILGA World, the Human Rights Campaign, Encircle, Equality North Carolina, Equality Texas, GLSEN, Equality Federation, the National Center for Transgender Equality, PFLAG, SMYAL, and The Trevor Project.
