The unlikely winner and the prominent losers
We already know from previous blind tests that Apple tends to lose early in the voting process. In this one, the iPhone 15 Pro Max from Apple was also eliminated in the first round and lost to the Oppo Find X6 Pro. In contrast, Samsung’s Galaxy S23 Ultra made it through to round 2 and won against the Honor Magic 5 Pro. Perhaps surprisingly, the Asus ROG Phone was able to prevail against the highly acclaimed Huawei camera, while in the Vivo vs Google duo, the Pixel 8 Pro won against the X90 Pro with Zeiss camera. Despite the Leica branding, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra also loses to the Sony Xperia 1 V in the first round. In the OnePlus vs Redmagic match, the red gaming devils win.
In the second round, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra also prevails against the Oppo Find X6 Pro, the Asus ROG Phone 7 Ultimate against the Google Pixel 8 Pro and the Sony Xperia 1 Mark V against the Nubia RedMagic 8s Pro. The surprising winner of this blind smartphone camera test in the third round is the Asus gaming phone (ROG Phone 7 available here on Amazon), whose photo received the most votes in the end. If you are interested in the reasons for the surprising winners, you should watch the video above, as the voters’ decisions are usually quite plausible.
