Android briefly lists Meta’s Twitter rival, sparking a ‘fight’ between Musk and Zuckerberg.

It is no longer a secret that Meta, the parent company of Facebook, is in the process of developing its own app called Threads, which will directly compete with Twitter. Rumors have been circulating that the app could be launched this summer, and the latest reports suggest that it is indeed ready for release.
A developer on Twitter recently shared a screenshot indicating that Meta’s Twitter clone had been mistakenly listed on the Google Play Store. However, the app is no longer discoverable on the store, suggesting that it was listed in error.
The developer also provided a few screenshots of the app, claiming that they were posted along with the listing. These images offer a glimpse into the app’s design.
Seamless Instagram Integration
According to one of the screenshots, users will have the option to sign in with their Instagram accounts. Another screenshot shows a list of Instagram accounts that the user follows, along with a prompt to follow the same accounts on Threads. This integration with Instagram aims to create a seamless user experience.
The third screenshot reveals that users will have four options: like, comment, reshare (similar to retweet), and share. These options are represented by icons that align with those used on Instagram. Additionally, users will be able to create their own threads, similar to the feature found on Twitter.
Elon Musk vs. Mark Zuckerberg
The development of this app has sparked conversations and speculation about a potential “cage fight” between Elon Musk, the owner of Twitter, and Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta.
Earlier this year, Meta confirmed that they were working on a Twitter competitor, internally known as “Project 92” and publicly named Threads. This announcement prompted a response from Musk on Twitter. Another CEO joined the conversation, mentioning Zuckerberg’s knowledge of jiu-jitsu.
Musk replied, expressing his willingness to engage in a “cage match.” Zuckerberg then posted an Instagram story sharing Musk’s tweet and saying, “Send me the location.”
Musk later announced that the fight would take place in Las Vegas. Recent reports suggest that this anticipated showdown between two prominent figures in the tech industry may occur at the Colosseum in Rome.
