The Android Auto 10 update brings a design change for the Google Assistant, aligning it with the modern design aesthetics of the Android operating system. Previously, the Assistant had a complete end-to-end dash bar with the Assistant logo. Now, it features a floating design with a separate box background that hovers over the bottom bar, accompanied by a close icon on the right side. The Assistant’s animation has also been updated with a sleek ‘glow’ effect seen on phones.
In addition, Google has recently updated Maps for Android Auto to provide better features for electric vehicle owners. These additions make it easier for EV users to find routes with charging stations and select the appropriate charging type for their cars.
The Android Auto 10 update is currently being rolled out in phases and is expected to be available in all regions soon, although an official date has not been provided.
To check if you have received the new Android Auto update, go to the Google Play Store and search for Android Auto. From the listing page, tap on the “About the App” option to check the installed version on your phone. If an Update button is visible, tap on it to update.
