Amazfit rolls out smartwatch update with new features and optimizations

Zepp Health is rolling out update 3.16.4.3 to the Amazfit Balance smartwatch. The new software, 12.84 MB in size, has been reported by wearable users in the US and Europe. The update contains several new features and various optimizations of existing tools.

Firstly, the new software for the Balance means it now supports automatic downhill detection for various winter sports, including skiing, downhill skiing and snowboarding. Plus, accompanying data such as Max. Downhill Gradient, Avg. Downhill Angle and Downhill Duration can be captured. For runners, you can use the AI Zepp Coach to prepare for a 3 km (~1.8 miles) race. With Amazfit’s Readiness enabled, a score indicating your physical and mental health after sleep, the auto heart rate, stress and sleep breathing quality monitors are now triggered. Cyclists may be pleased to hear that a cadence meter can be connected, with collected data integrated into your workouts.

Several optimizations have also been made to the Amazfit Balance, including vibrations in the Breathe application and the off-wrist passcode set-up page. Plus, the company has added prompts if an abnormal Body Composition measurement is detected. You should be notified via the Zepp app when the update is available for your smartwatch; to start the update, simply open the notification. It remains unclear when the software will become available to all Amazfit Balance smartwatch users.
