The Amazfit T-Rex 2 is receiving a new update, version 9.55.3.2. The rugged wearable is an older model, launching in May 2022, with features including GPS tracking with support for five satellite navigation systems and dual-band positioning. The latest software, spotted by several users, contains new features seen in recent releases for other wearables from the brand.
Two activities have been added to the T-Rex 2: Pickleball and Padel. Both can be accessed by going to the Workout App > More > Ball Workouts. Other improvements included with the software are an enhanced display for real-time data shown mid-workout and an update to the set-up for a connected cycling power meter and the data it collects. Plus, paddle time statistics have been optimized when using a rowing machine.
You can download the update, 5.47 MB in size, for the Amazfit T-Rex 2 smartwatch via the Zepp app by going to Profile > Amazfit T-Rex 2 > System Update. The company notes that you should also ensure you have the latest version of the Zepp App. It remains unclear whether the new software is already available for all users or is being rolled out in phases.
