Meta has already started rolling out the latest version of the Wear OS app, which is compatible with smartwatches running Wear OS 3. Users can send and receive texts, emojis, quick replies, and record voice messages from their wrists using the standalone WhatsApp app for Wear OS. Google also announced this highly anticipated app during their annual developer conference, I/O 2023, in May. Beta testers have been able to access the app for over a month now. In addition to WhatsApp, Google revealed other third-party apps for Wear OS, including Spotify and Peloton. Currently, Apple’s watchOS does not have a dedicated WhatsApp app. This means that Apple Watch users cannot create new conversations or make calls through WhatsApp on their smartwatches. However, they can check incoming messages and respond to them from the Apple Watch screen, provided they have the necessary notification settings enabled on their iPhones.
