All Physical Pre-Orders of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 Being Refunded by Publisher

Paradox Interactive has announced that all physical pre-orders for Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 will be refunded to customers due to content changes. The game was originally scheduled for release in 2020 but was subsequently delayed several times, and the studio Hardsuit Labs was removed from the project in 2021. The game’s launch window remains uncertain, and fans have been left disappointed with the lack of updates. However, Paradox has teased a “big announcement” set to be made in September, which will reveal the new developer of the sequel.

Paradox Interactive also stated that it will be updating the game’s editions and bonus content, and wants to provide the best value to those who supported the game via digital pre-order. Despite the refunds, the digital versions of the First Blood Edition, Unsanctioned Edition, and Blood Moon Edition will not be affected. Meanwhile, the publisher has provided new environmental screenshots as a hint of the game’s ongoing development.

The game has had a troubled production, including the firing of two of its top employees, leading to uncertainty among fans. However, a cinematic trailer released earlier showcased various vampiric abilities, including charm, cunning, and terror. The trailer also offered glimpses of gameplay features such as the ability to summon bat swarms, teleportation, and heightened agility.

Ultimately, fans eagerly await the forthcoming announcement in September and the hope that it will shed light on the game’s development and launch date.
