Adobe launches Express app to offer Firefly generative AI features for mobile users

Adobe has recently launched a new app called Adobe Express, which extends its cloud-based mobile design platform to iOS and Android devices. This app includes the same creative, editing, and generative AI features powered by Adobe Firefly, which were previously available for desktop users. According to Adobe, the app is currently in beta and available for free for users to experiment with.

Users can access the app to create creative elements such as social media posts, posters, and website banners. Furthermore, Creative Cloud members can also seamlessly access and modify Photoshop and Illustrator files directly from the mobile application.

The key features of the Adobe Express mobile app include:

Text to Image: Instantly generate unique images with Firefly generative AI to refresh project aesthetics.

Generative Fill: Easily manipulate images by adding, removing, or replacing elements using simple text prompts.

Text Effects: Enhance headlines, copy, and messages with attention-grabbing text stylings powered by generative AI.

Video Editing: Utilize unique templates, combine multimedia elements, add animations, and generate real-time captions in over 100 languages, with support for 4K video features.
Expanded Content and Templates: Access a vast library of video and multipage templates, Adobe Fonts, and Adobe Stock assets.

Quick Actions: Edit photos and videos, remove backgrounds, and resize images with a single click.

Content Scheduler: Plan, preview, schedule, and publish content across various social media channels seamlessly.

Brand Kits: Upload and share brand assets, incorporating brand fonts, colors, and logos into designs for efficient on-brand content creation.

Collaboration: Real-time co-editing and review capabilities streamline the creative process.

Adobe Express mobile app availability

The Adobe Express mobile app is currently available for both Android and iOS devices in beta phase. During the beta period, users can access premium features without any cost. Android users can download the beta version from the Google Play Store with ease. However, Apple’s restrictions on the number of beta testers mean that iOS users must sign up using a specific link.

Meanwhile, Adobe assures that it is committed to offering users safe AI usage in the app, with Firefly generative AI designed for secure commercial applications. Firefly also offers Content Credentials for assets it generates, acting as digital “nutrition labels” with creator details and editing history. These credentials are powered by C2PA’s open-source technology, ensuring proper attribution and empowering consumers to make informed choices about digital content.

Talking about the new app Govind Balakrishnan, Senior Vice President, Adobe Express and Digital Media Services at Adobe said, “Millions of users around the world are turning to Adobe Express to create more content than ever before – more than doubling the number of creations ever made in just the last yearâ€æThe new Adobe Express mobile app puts Firefly – our generative AI models – front and center, giving users unprecedented ways to create videos, designs, photos and images that stand out.”
