The director’s goal was to create a timeless film that blends classic elements while pushing boundaries.
Tartakovsky goes on to say that “Fixed” is like “Lady and the Tramp” or “101 Dalmatians,” but with an R-rating. He acknowledges the mature content but emphasizes that beneath that, the film tells a sweet, charming, and sincere story of friendship and romance.
The movie will also showcase the beauty of 2-D animation, a style that Tartakovsky believes has become a lost art in the era of computer-generated graphics. He cites “The 40-Year-Old Virgin” and “Knocked Up” as his inspirations for “Fixed.” The voice cast is exceptional, with Adam Devine voicing Bull, Idris Elba as his buddy Rocco, and Kathryn Hahn as Bull’s love interest, Honey.
