At some point in the future, it’s possible that a horror franchise will be allowed to rest in peace and won’t be brought back to life. However, evidence continues to mount indicating that this will not occur anytime soon. However, for those who are anxiously awaiting another Leprechaun movie, there is some good news.
Despite producing eight installments over the last 30 years, the majority of which have been widely panned by even the most die-hard fans, studio executives believe that a fresh take on the franchise is necessary.

In the case of Leprechaun, the most recent installment, Returns, was released five years ago. According to Deadline, Felipe Vargas will direct the latest addition to the never-ending series with Mike Van Waes, who recently wrote Disney’s live-action Lilo & Stitch remake, serving as the screenwriter.
In terms of critical reception, it’s worth asking who is eager for more Leprechaun in their life. Although Returns received the best reviews of the entire series on Rotten Tomatoes, an approval rating of 44% falls short of critical acclaim. With respective scores of 27, 6, 0, 17, 33, 20, and 0, the franchise’s futility is clearly evident.
While it’s possible that it could turn out to be a classic, considering the series’ history, it’s best to reserve judgment until the final product is released.
