A Guide to Successfully Finishing the “Open the Shop” Quest in Ravenlok

Upon entering the mystical land controlled by the malevolent Queen, Ravenlok will ensure that you familiarize yourself with the fundamental principles of combat. Simultaneously, he will assign you the task of reopening Hedgehog Etta’s shop for her and her brother Clyde. RELATED: Ravenlok: Moving In Quest Walkthrough. Although it may be an early game quest, it contains unexpected twists and turns, featuring numerous items to retrieve and a couple of formidable bosses to confront. Brace yourself for multiple back-and-forths and prepare for challenging battles. Here’s a guide on defeating the upcoming adversaries and successfully opening the essential shop in this enchanting indie title.

Commencing the Quest

To commence the “Open The Shop” quest, engage in a conversation with Hedgehog Etta. She will provide you with Mustard Seed Tea and instruct you to deliver it to Enid the Witch for a Blessing. Unfortunately, the path to Enid the Witch’s residence in the Mushroom Forest is currently obstructed by Hedgehog Clyde. He insists that you procure a Piece Of Fungus for him. You can obtain this Fungus by completing your combat training at the conclusion of the “Arm Yourself” quest. Hand over the Piece of Fungus to Clyde, and you will gain access to the Mushroom Forest.

The Queen’s Ambush

Proceed into the Mushroom Forest and locate the glowing red orb. Interact with it, and the malevolent Queen herself will materialize before you. She will instigate hostility among the mushrooms, so prepare to defeat them all. Another wave of mushrooms will follow shortly after. Once you have vanquished the mushrooms, a door will open, leading you to Enid the Witch.

The Weeping Fungi

Enid will inform you that two additional ingredients are required for the Blessing. The first one is the head of the Weeping Fungi, a monstrous entity that has been causing terror in the depths of the Mushroom Forest. Before setting out, take note that you can level up here by gaining experience from defeating enemies. As you level up, your damage output and resistance to damage will increase. Therefore, maximize your level whenever you pass through this area. Take the path to the right and proceed to the far end. Be prepared to confront more Mushroom enemies. The Fungi can be identified by its green color, which happens to be its favorite. It will only engage in combat if you respond “no” when asked if you think green is the best color. The Fungi possesses only a few moves, primarily designed for ranged combat. It can spray green projectiles onto the ground or through the air. You can nullify the damage from these projectiles using your Shield or dodge them altogether. Launch a frontal assault, utilizing quick swings to deplete the Fungi’s health. Focus on shielding and dodging during its attacks, and exploit any openings to strike. While the Fungi can occasionally pose a challenge, this fight is relatively straightforward as long as you remain vigilant. RELATED: Hollow Knight: Best Side Quests

Buvador The Bison

Upon returning to Enid, you discover that you also require a piece of Buvador the Bison. Although she does not specify the exact part needed, she informs you that Buvador can be found in Deer Lake. Defeating the Fungi has opened a pathway that leads to the lake. Once there, navigate towards the opening among the trees to encounter the Stag Leader, Idris the Mighty. In order to gain his trust, he insists that you prove your worthiness. Four other Stags are present in Deer Lake, and helping each one will grant you an audience with Buvador. The requests differ slightly but are similar to those encountered in previous quests. Two Stags simply require you to eliminate 10 enemies of each type found in the area, namely Mosquitos and Whisperers. Should you have already been killing these enemies before initiating these quests, the count will carry over. Since ten is a sufficiently large number that necessitates leaving and resetting the area, consider eliminating every enemy before speaking to the Stag Leader or simply exiting the area. The other two Stags have slightly more specific requests. You must eradicate four larvae and five allergen spores. The locations of all nine of these will be displayed below for your reference. However, remember that you cannot destroy the spores until you commence the quest, as the Stag will provide you with the necessary quest item.

Larvae Locations:
1. Located in a bare patch within the grassy forest, surrounded by several enemies.
2. Found in another patch near a large, curved tree.
3. Discovered near the edge of the forest within a specific patch.
4. Located near the forest’s edge beneath two large, glowing flowers.

Allergen Spore Locations:
1. Situated in a forest clearing (exercise caution as locals may turn hostile).
2. Found within a forest clearing in the shade of a large tree.
3. Positioned in a central area defended by imposing enemies.
4. Discovered in the shade of a large mushroom within a clearing.
5. Located near the third spore in the depicted clearing.

The Battle with Buvador

Upon obtaining proof of your assistance to all four Stags, speak to Idris the Mighty once more. He will lower you into the pit where Buvador is imprisoned. After attempting to share his side of the story, Buvador misconstrues your intentions and instigates a battle. Although not overly challenging, players must remain vigilant. Buvador primarily charges at you, but you can block his attacks to avoid damage, although this drains your stamina. Occasionally, he may drop green stalactites to ensnare you, but once again, you can block to mitigate this threat. Wait for him to charge, then dash away and attack from behind. Utilize your special attack and bombs if available. Moreover, defeating Buvador will unlock a special ability, enabling you to charge at enemies in a similar fashion.

Crafting the Blessing

Enid requests that you complete her task on her behalf. Enter the house and ascend the ladder on the left. Locate the cauldron and mix the ingredients. However, you will realize that a source of fire is required. To obtain this, you must assist Camy the Cauldron by embarking on a quest to find four pieces of Cinder.

Cinder Piece Locations:
1. Found in a pit near the witch’s house.
2. Located near the forest’s edge alongside a stack of barrels.
3. Positioned in an out-of-the-way stone formation.
4. Slightly hidden behind a group of trees.

Once you have obtained the Cinder pieces, return to Camy the Cauldron. Seek his assistance, and he will provide you with a Torch. Descend the stairs with the Torch and proceed to craft the Blessing.

Completing the Quest

Before departing, engage in a conversation with Enid, who will grant you the Key to her Attic. Inside, you will find a mirror that allows for fast travel to the Mansion, provided you have already unlocked it. Deliver the Blessing to Etta, completing the quest and unlocking her shop. Your journey within this underrated indie gem can now commence. NEXT: Honkai Star Rail: Amidst The Mara-Struck Mission Walkthrough
