Microsoft India President Anant Maheshwari has resigned from his position after serving for nearly seven years at the software company. This departure has resulted in a restructuring of the top executives within the multinational software giant. As a result, Microsoft has promoted its chief operating officer, Irina Ghose, to the role of Managing Director for India. When approached for comment, a Microsoft spokesperson confirmed the news and expressed gratitude for Maheshwari’s contributions to the company’s business and culture in India.

Navtej Bal has been appointed as the new chief operating officer, while Venkat Krishnan will assume the position of executive director of the public sector business. Prior to joining Microsoft, Maheshwari held the position of president at Honeywell India and was an engagement manager at McKinsey & Company.
Furthermore, reports have emerged stating that Sreenivasa Reddy, a senior engineering executive at Microsoft, is likely to join Google by the end of the year. Reddy has previously held senior positions at Apple’s India regulatory team and was responsible for government relations at Ericsson AB’s local unit, where he played a key role in driving domestic manufacturing efforts. His expertise will also aid Google in navigating regulatory challenges, particularly regarding antitrust charges in India related to its dominant position in mobile operating systems.
