The anime Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead is finally set to end its run by airing the remaining three episodes on December 25. This announcement comes as a Christmas Day gift to fans following a series of delays in the streaming schedule for the show.

The anime experienced a lot of hiccups in its release schedule, with Episode 5 being postponed, leading to a recap episode. Episode 4, 6, 7, and 8 were also delayed due to some reason or the other. Subsequently, after managing to air up to Episode 9 with intermittent delays, Episodes 10-12 were indefinitely postponed.
Studio Shaft, renowned for producing shows like March Comes In Like a Lion and the Monogatari series, was originally credited for working on the anime in collaboration with the new studio Bug Films. However, observant fans noted that Shaft’s logo disappeared from the opening and ending credits of Zom 100 in subsequent episodes. While it’s possible that Shaft ceased its involvement with the anime at that point, some fans speculate that the studio departed due to the myriad of production issues.
Looks like Shaft now has officially abandoned Zom100 production, they are no longer credited in the Opening and Ending sequences.#ゾン100 #Zom100 pic.twitter.com/issAaBeANr

Despite the challenging production schedule, Zom 100 has received praise for offering a fresh perspective on the conventional zombie concept. The story follows Akira Tendo, who, weary of his life at an exploitative company, takes the opportunity to fulfil a hundred items on his bucket list in the middle of a zombie apocalypse.
What’s interesting about Bug Films is that its staff previously worked at OLM, the studio known for the Pokemon anime series. Some fans have drawn connections between the exploitative company in Zom 100, known as ZLM, and OLM, suggesting that the former OLM staff now at Bug Films might be making a statement about their former employer’s working conditions.
The first episode of Zom 100 is stunningly directed, joyful in animation, and simply hilarious – though no gag is funnier than the fact that “a production company so bad it’s worse than the zombie apocalypse” is represented by… studio OLM, which this team recently split off from pic.twitter.com/AEJL2N8zFO

Despite the scheduling challenges, Zom 100 is still worth checking out. It is available for streaming on Muse Asia and Crunchyroll, with also a Hindi dub option on Crunchyroll.
