YouTube Releases Stories on Android and iOS to Creators with over 10K Subscribers

Stories! Everybody loves reading and exchanging them. Earlier, telling stories meant getting together with old peers and reminiscing the tales of younger times. With the technological evolution, the way people share stories has received a major transformation. Almost all the major social networking platforms such as Facebook, Snapchat, and Instagram, come with their own variation of Stories.

Following their footsteps, YouTube has just rolled out its own Stories feature. The media streaming service started fiddling with the concept when it released The Reels to the Community tab.

However, a couple of months ago, people began noticing Stories from certain channels cropping up in the YouTube application. Well, now the feature has been officially launched.

Any Creator, provided they have over ten thousand subscribers, will now be able to access the brand-new Stories feature. With this feature, they can upload instant videos and share them with subscribers. They can also share text content, stickers and filters. For using the feature, one has to hit the video icon in the YouTube Android or iOS app and choose Create Story.

Subscribers can also comment on YouTube stories. However, this comment function differs from the one in Instagram and WhatsApp, as on YouTube, the comments posted on Stories are visible to everyone. Therefore, anyone can view, upvote, downvote, or like the comments.

Story uploaders can access the moderation tools to give prompt responses via a picture or video. According to YouTube, the channel subscribers can see the Stories in the subscription screen. The Stories might also be recommended to the users, who have not subscribed to the channel, in either the home screen or in Up Next.

By default, these Stories are set to disappear in a week. But, the creators can extend the duration for which their Stories are to remain visible. Stay Tuned with TechnoCodex for more updates.
