You Can Now Turn Off Notification Dots on Facebook

Red Notifications for Marketplace users on Facebook’s homepage is quite annoying and people have requested Facebook so many times to remove or turn off this function from the app. In the past, we have seen an update to disable this function. From now, you can disable the Facebook Dots from the app.

The Social Networking giant has officially confirmed that they are adding a new Shortcut Bar Settings feature on the iOS platform. This new feature will give the users more control over what they want to see on the bottom side of the app. This feature will be available exclusively for the iOS platform. The same feature will be added to the Android platform very soon.

If you want to get rid of this feature i.e. Red Dots from the Homepage of your Facebook app on an iOS device, then you just need to long press and hold the Red Icon and a new menu with useful options will be presented. From the given options, you can simply remove the entire bar or can turn off the notifications for that particular bar.

You can also silence the notifications from the Marketplace. If the Marketplace is forcefully showing the notifications of irrelevant things, then you can silence them from this new Shortcut Bar Settings Feature. The menu will have a lot of customizable options letting users customize or manage the functionality of the Marketplace and its notifications.

According to Facebook’s official spokesperson, “We are rolling out navigation bar controls to make it easier for people to connect with the things they like and control the notifications they get within the Facebook app.”

This is indeed a very useful update for Facebook users. This will give them more power to see the things which they want to buy from the Marketplace and not the irrelevant items.

To enable this feature, you have to first update the Facebook app on your iOS device. Then click on to the three-line More tab button and select Settings and Privacy option. There you will see the Shortcut menu from where you can control or manage the Red Dots.
