You Can Now Share Your WhatsApp Status as Facebook and Instagram Stories

WhatsApp, a popular Instant Messaging app, has received a new update today. The facebook-owned messaging app got a new feature that lets users share WhatsApp status on Facebook and Instagram Stories directly from the WhatsApp Status page. We have already heard about the same in the past which is now made available officially.

WhatsApp’s new update has been rolled out to both, Android and iOS platform starting from today. The WhatsApp status feature works great as you can simply share your WhatsApp status to Instagram and Facebook Stories. There is no bound as you can share all types of WhatsApp status using this feature be it images or videos.

Apart from Instagram and Facebook, users of WhatsApp will also be able to share the same to Gmail and many other platforms including Google Photos. This new feature is implemented by WhatsApp using a new Data sharing API.

This new Data Sharing API is quite innovative as you don’t need to link your Facebook or Instagram accounts to WhatsApp in order to share WhatsApp Status. The apps will work independently and you will see Instagram and Facebook option along with other platforms within the WhatsApp Status window.

Additionally, WhatsApp also receives a new update with Hide button for Status updates. Users who have muted the statuses can press the hide button. This will stop other users from seeing your statuses. You can also press the Show button to let them see your statuses again.

WhatsApp has also updated its FAQ section where they have added a bunch of new Questions and Answers related to the new features recently added to the WhatsApp app.

Unfortunately, the newly updated app with WhatsApp Status sharing feature appears randomly on both, Android and iOS platforms. It is not widely made available for the public. It seems like WhatsApp has released this update to a limited number of users only for testing purpose. In the coming days, we will get to see this update in public.

Additionally, WhatsApp has also made the Google Assistant Integration smoother. Users can now use Google Assistant commands to share videos and voice notes directly from their smartphones.
