A New York-based company is offering a sweet prize for those willing to forego their smartphones for a month.
Siggi’s Dairy, which is known for making Icelandic-style yogurt, is offering $10,000 to people who are willing to stay off smartphones for a month.
“We believe in the power of living a simpler life with fewer distractions. One of the biggest distractions in our lives today is our phone,” the company said on its website. “That’s why we’re challenging you to give up your smartphone for a month as part of the Siggi’s Digital Detox Program.”
To enter the contest, you must be 18 years of age or older by Jan. 31, 2024. Then, you have to submit a 100-500 word essay “explaining why you need a digital detox in your life and how it will impact you in a positive way,” according to Siggi’s website.
If you are one of the 10 lucky winners, you will receive a prize of $10,000, a lockbox for your smartphone, a flip phone, a prepaid SIM card good for one month and a three-month supply of Siggi’s yogurt.
