Xiaomi Tipped to Launch Redmi 5, Redmi 5 PLus and Redmi Note 5 with Full-Screen 18:9 display


We have seen couple of renders of upcoming Redmi series of smartphones, few days back two Redmi smartphone were spotted on TENAA with same specs, only difference in memory configuration. These smartphones were spotted with the model numbers MEE7 and MET7.

As per the latest detail by GizmoChina, there will be a third full-screen phone as well and these Redmi series smartphones are Redmi 5, Redmi 5 Plus, and the Redmi Note 5. All these smartphones will feature an 18:9 display but the screen size and specifications will be different.

As per the listing on TENAA, it is expected that one of the phones will have a 5.5” HD+ display which could be Redmi 5, while the Redmi 5 Plus and Redmi Note 5 will feature 5.9” FHD+ displays.

If we talk about Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus, apart from the difference in screen size both the smartphone will have a different memory configuration, the Redmi 5 will feature 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage while Redmi 5 Plus comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The Redmi 5 Plus will also be powered by a Helio P25 SoC and have a price tag of ¥1099($165/Rs. 10500 approx.)

For the Redmi Note 5, it is expected to be powered by a new Snapdragon 636 SoC coupled with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The Note 5 is expected to launch with the price tag of ¥1599 ($240/ Rs. 15700 approx).

Further more, a leaked screenshot suggest the production schedule for the phones and hints at a December release date.

All above mentions features and specs are just unofficial leaks of upcoming Redmi series of smartphones, these are not confirmed by the company in any way.
