Xiaomi Redmi S2 with Dual Rear Cameras Certified by 3C; May Launch Soon


Earlier this week, Xiaomi’s upcoming entry-level smartphone – Xiaomi Redmi S2 was spotted on the Chinese certification agency TENAA with model number M1803E6E. The smartphone has now been certified by the necessary 3C (Compulsory Certification of China) certification agency in China. The listing indicates the device might hit the market soon.

However, the 3C listing doesn’t reveal any information on the specs of the phone, but it has confirmed that it will carry support for 5V/2A charging.

Xiaomi Redmi S2 Certified by 3C in China

As per TENAA listing, the Xiaomi Redmi S2 runs on MIUI 9 based on Android 8.1.0 Oreo operating system. It sports a 5.99” HD+ (1440 x 720 pixel) display with 2.5D curved glass on top. The smartphone is powered by a 2.0 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 506 GPU. It offers three memory configurations – 2GB/ 3GB/ 4GB of RAM along with 16GB/ 32GB/ 64GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 256GB via microSD card.

For photography, the Xiaomi Redmi S2 comes equipped with a dual rear camera setup with a combination of a 12MP primary and 8MP secondary sensors along with LED flash support for better lowlight capturing. On the front, it has a 16MP shooter for selfies and video calls.

The Xiaomi Redmi S2 is fueled by a 3000 mAh battery. Connectivity options include Dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/A-GPS and a micro-USB port. There is also a fingerprint scanner at the back. It measures 160.73 x 77.26 x 8.1 mm and weighs 170 grams.
