Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, Redmi Note 5 Pro with 5.99” Full-HD+ display, Selfie-Light Launched in India
Xiaomi has today finally launched the much anticipated Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro smartphones in India. The Redmi Note 5 comes with a price tag of Rs 9,999 for the 3GB RAM variant, while the 4GB RAM option is priced at Rs 11,999. Whereas, the Redmi Note 5 Pro comes with the price tag Rs 13,999 for the 4GB RAM option, while the 6GB RAM variant is priced at Rs 16,999. Both the will be made available from company’s official store, Flipkart and Mi Home starting from February 22, 2018. The smartphone will also go on sale soon via all of Xiaomi’s offline retail partners in near future. Both the smartphones will be available in Black, Gold, Lake Blue, and Rose Gold options.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro
The smartphone made its Global debut in India today; it features a metallic unibody design. Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro runs on runs on MIUI 9 based on Android 7.1.2 Nougat operating system. It sports a 5.99” FHD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels ) 18:9 display with 2.5D curved glass on top, it offers 450-nit maximum brightness, 1500:1 colour contrast ratio. The smartphone is powered by the 1.8GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC coupled with Adreno 506GPU. It offers 4GB/6GB of LPDDR4X RAM with 64GB of internal storage.
For photography, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro comes equipped with a dual-rear camera setup – It is the first smartphone under Redmi series to feature dual rear cameras. It has a 12MP Sony IMX486 sensor with 1.25-micron-pixel and f/2.2 aperture along with a 5MP secondary camera with 1.12-micron pixel, f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, EIS, and an LED flash module. It is driven by AI-based semantic segmentation deep learning algorithms that can accurately detect edge for capturing marvelous portrait shots. On the front, it has a 20MP Sony IMX376 selfie camera with LED flash and Beautify 4.0 for capturing for AI-driven beautified photos. Both front and rear cameras offer Portrait mode Bokeh effects.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro is fueled by a 4,000mAh battery carrying support for 5V/2A charging. Connectivity options include Dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, 3.5mm headphone jack, and Micro-USB port. Redmi Note 5 Pro also promises a Face Unlock feature. However, it doesn’t come out of the box. It will arrive via an OTA update by the end of March 2018. It measures 158.6 x 75.4 and weighs 181 grams.

The smartphone is powered by up to 2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor along coupled with Adreno 506 GPU. It offers 3GB/ 4GB of RAM and 32GB/ 64GB of internal storage which can be further expanded via microSD card.
For photography, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 has a 12MP primary camera with 1.25-micron pixel, f/2.2 aperture, PDAF, EIS, and an LED flash module. On the front, it has a 5MP selfie shooter with LED flash and Beautify 3.0.
