Xiaomi Redmi 5A 2GB RAM variant is now selling at its Original price of Rs. 5,999


Xiaomi Redmi 5A – the entry-level smartphone from Xiaomi got the price hike of Rs. 1000. Redmi 5A 2GB storage variant will now be available for its original starting price of Rs 5,999. To recall, Xiaomi has launched Redmi 5A in India in November last year. It has been announced in in two variants – 2GB RAM with 16GB internal storage priced at Rs 5,999 and 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage priced at Rs 6,999. Xiaomi has decided to offer the 2GB RAM variant of the Redmi 5A at Rs 4,999 for the first five million buyers.

Xiaomi has confirmed the development on its official Twitter handle. Here is the tweet “Redmi 5A will now be available at its original price of ₹5,999 on http://mi.com  & @Flipkart#DeshKaSmartphone”. The Xiaomi Redmi 5A is exclusively available on Flipkart, company’s official website, and Mi Homes. It comes in Gold, Rose Gold, and Dark Grey colour options.


The Xiaomi Redmi 5A  runs on MIUI 9 based on Android Nougat operating system and sports a 5” HD (720×1280 pixels) display with a pixel density of 296ppi. The smartphone is powered by a 1.4GHz 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 quad-core processor coupled with Adreno 308 GPU. It offers 2GB/3GB of RAM and 16GB/32GB of internal storage which is further expandable up to 128GB via microSD card.

For photography, The Redmi 5A comes equipped with a 13MP rear camera with an f/2.2 aperture and LED flash; camera features include PDAF, burst mode, panorama mode, HDR mode, and more. On the front, there is a 5MP front-facing camera with an f/2.0 aperture; it is capable to record 1080p and 720p videos.

The smartphone is fueled by a 3000mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 technology. Connectivity options include dual-SIM support, 4G with VoLTE, 3G, GPRS/ EDGE, Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, and Micro-USB. The handset measures 140.4 x 70.1 mm x 8.35 mm and weighs 137g.
