Xiaomi Redmi 4 Launched in India With Snapdragon 435 and 4100mAh battery, Price Starts at Rs. 6,999


On Tuesday, Xiaomi hold an event in New Delhi and  launched the next Redmi phone, The Xiaomi Redmi 4, Redmi 4 is the sucessor of  Xiaomi’s Redmi 3s, which has been the online best-selling smartphone with over 4 million units sold since launch in August 2016. Xiaomi has decided to bring that smartphone to India in three separate variants priced at Rs 6,999, Rs 8,999 and Rs 10,999. The Redmi 4 will be going on sale next week on May 23, on Amazon India and mi.com. The sale starts at 12:00PM.

The Xiaomi Redmi 4 design is likely similar as the Redmi Note 4,  it comes with an all-metal body and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, curved edges, and a 2.5D curved glass on top of the screen. It measures 139.2×69.6.x8.6mm, and weighs 150 grams. The Xiaomi Redmi 4 has been launched in three memory/ storage variants in India.

  1. The 2GB RAM/ 16GB storage variant has been priced at Rs. 6,999,
  2. the 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage variant has been priced at Rs. 8,999,
  3. while the 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage is priced at Rs. 10,999.

All the varients will be available in Matte Black and Elegant Gold colour options.

Talking about specification, the Redmi 4 runs MIUI 8 based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system, the phone comes with a 5” IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colour support and 720 x 1280 pixels with 296 ppi pixel density. The display is covered with a 2.5D curved glass It sports an all-metal body and a fingerprint sensor on the rear panel. Rdmi 4 is powered by a 1.4GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 SoC with the above detailed RAM and Storage options wichi can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card.

The Redmi 4 also offers good features in terms of photography, it has a 13 MP PDAF camera with f/2.0 aperture,  including features like phase detection autofocus, LED flash, touch focus, geo-tagging, face/smile detection, HDR and panorama picture. On the front side the device sports a 5 MP front camera with f/2.2 aperture.

Connectivity options on the Redmi 4 include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB with OTG, Bluetooth v4.1, and 3.5mm audio jack. It also sports an infrared sensor. The phone is powered by a 4100mAh battery which claims to gives 18 days of stand-by time and 36 hours of 3G talk time.
