Xiaomi on Thursday officially unveiled the “Xiaomi Privacy Brand” with a new logo that represents the brand’s focus on user’s privacy. Xiaomi says the privacy brand logo will be applied to its products and services in the future to show their concern and commitment to user’s privacy.
With the MIUI interface, Xiaomi has continued to improve on privacy and user security. MIUI focuses to provide rich and reliable capabilities for privacy protection. Earlier before, Xiaomi has developed an open-source MACE (Mobile AI Compute Engine) framework, especially for mobile terminals. With this framework, user data does not need to be uploaded to the cloud, instead offline computing can be completed directly on the mobile terminal.
To offer complete privacy protection to the users, Xiaomi has also developed a complete information security management system, which consists of six privacy protection principles of openness and transparency, data minimization, purpose limitation, security protection, compliance review, and clear responsibilities.
Apart from this, Xiaomi used “differential privacy” in the system which is a leading privacy protection algorithm. This system allows for publicly sharing information about a dataset by describing the patterns of groups within the dataset while withholding information about individuals in the dates. Well, the company will more details about the “Xiaomi Privacy Brand” concept on April 27 during the MIUI 12 conference.
