Xiaomi Mi A2 Launched in India with SD 660 SoC and Dual Rear cameras: Price, Specifications and More
Xiaomi has today launched its latest Android One smartphones – the Xiaomi Mi A2 as the successor of Xiaomi Mi A1, in India. The main highlight of the smartphone is Android One operating system, meaning that, the phone is certified to offer an optimised stock Android experience, and receive timely software and security update. It also features a vertically aligned dual rear camera setup.
Xiaomi Mi A2 Price and Availability
The Xiaomi Mi A2 comes with the price tag of Rs. 16,999 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB variant while the pricing and availability of 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant will be revealed later. The smartphone will up for pre-orders on Thursday, August 9, from 12 noon, via Amazon India and Mi.com and will go on sale on August 16 via Amazon India, Mi.com, Mi Home, and Mi Preferred Partner Stores. It will be made available in Black, Gold Lake Blue, and Rose Gold colour options
As for the Launch offers, the company is offering to 4.5TB additional data from Reliance Jio and up to Rs. 2,200 instant cashback.
Xiaomi Mi A2 Specifications
The Xiaomi Mi A2 runs on the stock version of Android 8.1 Oreo operating system as it is launched under the Android One program. It sports a 5.99”Full-HD+ (2160 × 1080 pixels) 18:9 display. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor coupled AIE and Adreno 512 GPU. It offers 4GB of LPDD4X RAM with 64GB of internal storage and the higher variant offers 6GB of LPDD4X RAM along with 128GB of internal storage.
For photography, the Xiaomi Mi A2 comes equipped with a dual rear camera setup with a combination of a 12MP primary Sony IMX486 sensor with f/1.75 aperture and 1.25-micron pixel size and a 20MP secondary Sony IMX376 sensor with f/1.75 aperture and 2-micron pixel size, the secondary camera does 4-to-1 pixel binning to provide better low light shots. On the front, it has a 20MP AI-powered Sony IMX376 sensor with AI Beauty and AI night self-timer. The front camera also comes with facial recognition technology to unlock the device. Both the cameras come accompanied by a LED flash. The smartphone comes with AI integration as well that will enhance the photos for over 200 scenes including 12 different portrait modes clicked by the users. Also, it can perform real-time translations for English, French, German Japanese, Korean and Indian languages.
The Xiaomi Mi A2 is fuelled by a 3010mAh battery with Quick Charge 4.0 support. Connectivity options include Dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and USB Type-C port. Notably, there is no 3.5mm audio jack so on the phone. Sensors on board include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, digital compass, gyroscope, and proximity sensor. There is also a fingerprint scanner at the back. It measures 158.7×75.4×7.3mm, and weighs 168 grams.
