Xiaomi Mi 8 SE with Snapdragon 710 SoC, Dual Rear Cameras Launched


Along with Xiaomi Mi 8 and Mi 8 Explorer Edition, Xiaomi has also launched Mi 8 SE smartphone at its annual launch event in China. The Mi 8 SE is the world’s first smartphone to come powered by the newly announced Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 octa-core processor. The smartphone comes with the price tag of yuan 1799 ($ 280/ Rs. 18,960 approx.) for the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage variant, while the 6GB RAM with 64GB storage variant is priced yuan 1999 ($ 312/ Rs. 21,070 approx.). It will be available to purchase starting June 8th in China in Bright Red, Bright Blue, Gold, Dark Gray colour options.

Talking about the specifications, the Xiaomi Mi 8 SE runs on Android 8.1 Oreo operating system with MIUI 9 skin on top. it sports a 5.88” Full HD+ (2244×1080 pixels) 18.7:9  AMOLED display with 600 nits brightness, 60000:1 contrast ratio, DCI-P3 color gamut and 2.5D curved glass on top. The smartphone is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 616 GPU. It offers 4GB/ 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM with 64GB of internal storage.

For photography, the Xiaomi Mi 8 SE comes equipped with a dual rear camera setup with a combination of a 12MP primary camera with f/1.9 aperture, 1.4μm pixel size, Dual PD, and  EIS along with 5MP secondary camera with f/2.0 aperture and 1.12um pixel size. On the front, it has a 20MP selfie shooter with AI portraits and AI beautification and uses pixel binning technology, combining the information from four pixels to create one large 2.0µm pixel.

The Xiaomi Mi 8 SE is fuelled by a 3120mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support. Connectivity options include Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5 LE, GPS + GLONASS, NFC, and USB Type-C port. There is also a fingerprint scanner at the back.
