Foldable smartphones have gained much attention from the starting of this year with several smartphone makers launching their foldable smartphones in the market. Well, Xiaomi has been lagging behind in the race of foldable smartphones as compared to its peers. But now, a new patent from Xiaomi has been discovered showing a foldable smartphone design.
This patent was first discovered by a tech enthusiast on Twitter @_the_tech_guy who shared this patent on his Twitter wall. Looking at the patent, the design of the patent looks similar to that of already launched Huawei Mate X. It features a similar foldable mechanism that we have seen on Mate X.
Everything looks similar to that of Mate X but with some notable differences. At the side of the back panel, there is a quad-rear camera mechanism that also looks similar to the rain-drop camera design that we have seen on the LG Velvet smartphone that launched recently.
Furthermore, there appear to be volume buttons on the left side of the phone with the power button at the top hinge. Apart from this, no further details of the phone are showcased on this patent.
It must be noted that just like most of the patents, there is no guarantee that this patent will turn out to be real. So, we advise you to take this patent as a grain of salt until Xiaomi didn’t confirm anything.
