Xbox One Update Brings Keyboard and Mouse Support

The most anticipated update of Xbox One is now live, bringing the support for keyboard and mouse. Some early games support this new update, and some other are coming later this month. Aside from that update, voice assistants such as Cortana and Alexa is also coming for integration with Xbox One.

Once the November 2018 Xbox Update is installed in your console, your One S or One X will now have PC-like input for a number of compatible games. As of now, the supported games are Fortnite and Warframe, and games such as Bomber Crew, Deep Rock Galactic, Strange Brigade, Warhammer: Vermintide 2, War Thunder and X-Morph Defense will also get support for keyboard and mouse controls later this month.

On the other hand, no time frame is given for the support of the games Children of Morta, DayZ, Minion Master, Moonlighter, Vigor, and Warface and Wargroove. As you can see, supported games are just limited to such games where the use of mouse and keyboard makes sense. Aside from that, the other reason is to keep the balance of cross-platform games in multiplayer modes.

Voice assistants such as Cortana and Alexa also gets an integration with the console. You can now use Alexa or Cortana to quit a game, or use it as an impromptu controller with “start navigation mode.”  Alexa users in the UK can now beta test the integration of Alexa and Xbox One. Players on the US can automatically pair an Xbox with Cortana from another device using the voice assistants.

Amazon has also released a “brand-new” app for the Xbox One providing an access to a massive content of Prime Music and Music Unlimited. Stay tuned with TechnoCodex and we will bring you more of its updates.
