Xbox is introducing a new platform-wide feature that allows users to report inappropriate voice messages encountered while playing games.
The new voice reporting feature for Xbox Insiders is an additional measure to safeguard users in situations where they interact with non-friends. Users can now report various types of content on the network, including text, images, videos, and voice.
This feature works by enabling Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One users to record video clips of up to one minute, capturing in-game voice incidents that violate the company’s Community Standards. The clips will then be sent for review to the Xbox Safety Team, and users will receive notifications about any actions taken based on their reports.
Players can initiate a report while playing a game and capture the desired audio without having to exit the game completely. The captured clips will remain on the users’ consoles for 24 hours, giving them the option to submit the report immediately or at a later time.
Enhancing player well-being & safety is always a priority. We’re adding voice reporting to our Xbox safety features, giving you the means to capture & report inappropriate voice activity on any multiplayer game with in-game voice chat.

Xbox will also send notifications to players who haven’t submitted their saved reports within the designated time period. Non-submitted reports will be automatically deleted from the player’s console.
This upcoming feature will initially be available for the Xbox Insiders program before being rolled out to the broader console player base in English-speaking markets such as the US, Canada, Great Britain, Australia, Ireland, and New Zealand.
