PlayStation made an exciting announcement at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. They revealed a brand new PlayStation 5 console and accessories inspired by Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
The console’s front showcases the red-and-white Spider-Man insignia, with the black tendrils of the Venom symbiote creeping around it. The back of the console is entirely black, featuring a white spider crest.
The console also comes with a matching DualSense controller, which can be purchased separately, as well as a digital voucher for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
Additionally, PlayStation will offer themed detachable console covers separately. This allows existing PS5 owners to customize their consoles without needing to buy a new one.

When and where to pre-order
The console and accessories will be available for pre-order on PlayStation Direct, a website available in the U.S. and other countries. Canadian customers can also pre-order through PlayStation Canada’s major gaming and electronics retail partners starting at 10am local time on July 28th.
As of now, the retailers’ pages are not live yet, so we have linked their names to general search results for “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.” We will update this article with the specific links once they are available.
Price
Official pricing for the console, controller, and covers has not been confirmed by Sony. We will provide an update as soon as we receive more information. The price for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be $89.99 CAD, consistent with other PS5 games.
Release date
The console, controller, and covers will all be released on September 1st. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, however, will launch exclusively on PS5 on October 20th. Those who purchase the themed console will be able to redeem their voucher on this date.
What’s the game about?
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is the highly anticipated sequel to both 2018’s Marvel’s Spider-Man and 2020’s Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Players will control both Peter Parker and Miles Morales as they face off against classic Spider-Man villains like Kraven the Hunter and Lizard. Along the way, Peter will bond with the iconic black symbiote, leading to the creation of Venom and a darker path for our heroes.
Being a PS5-exclusive title, the game utilizes the console’s fast load times with its SSD, offers immersive sound through Tempest 3D Audiotech, and provides unique sensations for web-swinging, Peter’s symbiote abilities, Miles’ electric powers, and more through DualSense haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.
